Jo provides one-to-one and group supervision for counsellors and psychotherapists. With over 16 years clinical supervision experience, Jo is a competent, effective and supportive supervisor who is passionate about empowering the supervisee to be the therapist they are!
Jo’s supervision experience started whilst she was working at Sandwell Rape Crisis in the 1990’s. Jo was trained by Professor Sue Wheeler (now at Leicester uni) and has a post graduate qualification in supervision from Birmingham University. (2013)
From 2002- 2006 Jo was clinical supervisor for Women and Girls Network in London where she was responsible for both individual and group supervision of counsellors working with women and girls who had experienced sexual violence.
Since 2002 Jo has been offering supervision to individuals and organisations alike.
Current supervision work
Jo presently provides ongoing external supervision for the following organisations:- Birmingham & Solihull Women’s Aid, Cedar – Birmingham, The Priory Birmingham, Lorus Hospice Leicester,Kemp Hospice, Newman College, Rape & Sexual Violence Project (RSVP), Anawim, The Sherwood Institute, Worcester 6th form college, NHS Primary Care Trusts, Sandwell Women’s Aid, The What Centre Stourbridge, Sandwell Shield, Bartley Green School, King Edwards VI High School for Girls, Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham and Psychotherapists/Counsellors in private practice.
Past Supervision work includes:- Henley College, Heart of Worcestershire College, Rugby Rosa, Women & Girls Network London, St Martins – the Bullring,
Motor Neurone Disease Association, Cruse Bereavement, Primrose Hospice, LGBT Wolverhampton,
Jo offers group supervision to small groups of counsellors who want to benefit from the group supervision experience whilst reducing their overall supervision costs. Jo also offers supervision via Skype when convenient/necessary and has supervisees from outside of the UK.
Jo also provides supervision for supervisors and trainee supervisors.
