CPD groups, workshops & training

Group work and continuing professional development
Jo’s group work experience dates back to the late 1980’s when she started self help groups at college. In the early 1990’s she facilitated a variety of groups for young women whilst working for the Methodist Church and St Basils. From the mid 1990’s Jo facilitated therapeutic women’s groups for survivors of rape and sexual abuse at Sandwell Rape Crisis Centre. Since then Jo has continued expanding her experience with working with groups and particularly enjoys this area of work.

Continuing Professional Development groups

Jo is presently offering two Continuing Professional Development (CPD) groups that meet monthly. One of these is for experienced counsellors & psychotherapists, the other is for recently qualified (less than 5 years) counsellors & psychotherapists. In order to get the most from a CPD group it is important to access a group that best represents a persons professional journey.

Jo also offers training on group work, facilitating groups and understanding group dynamics which she has delivered twice for Birmingham and Solihul Women’s aid.

For further information on available group places please get in touch.

Group-work/CPD Testimonial

“I have been a member of one of Jo’s CPD groups for a year and a half now and have found the experience to be an entirely rewarding one. As a counsellor working in a remote capacity the sense of camaraderie and support gained through my involvement in this group has undoubtedly contributed to both my own wellbeing as well as improving and further safeguarding my working practice.” [read more]
